Event Description: The Black Queen is a portrayal of Catherine de Medici, the Italian commoner who became one of the strongest queens of France. The Black Queen tells the intriguing story of the Renaissance woman who never expected to be a queen and who went on to be the power behind the throne through the reigns of three of her sons. The Black Queen is a lesson in history, politics and religious conflict wrapped in an entertaining package of wit, strategy and personal determination. Lecturer: Janina Birtolo View the complete winter 2017 Center for Lifelong Learning session guide at http://www.hodges.edu/lifelonglearning/cll_catalog.aspx.
