Event Description: This is the astounding story of how the International Committee of the Red Cross intentionally adopted a policy intended to ignore the persecution, imprisonment and murder of Jews, Roma and Sinti, as well as other Nazi political and religious “enemies.” This lecture tells how and why the Red Cross implemented a policy of acquiescence in Nazi Germany’s violation of the Geneva Convention. Newly discovered information explains the relationship between Nazi Germany, Switzerland and the ICRC.
