Event Description: In this lecture, you will learn from Joel Banow about the producer and director’s view of creating arts and cultural television programming. The course will view examples of specific programs from CBS and public broadcasting directed by Banow. Participants will view programs of 15-26 minutes in length. Subjects will include King Tut, the lost wax process for creating bronze sculptures, mixing history with art, a look at illuminated manuscripts, the medieval Books of Hours and clips relating to music, painters, ballet, sculptors and photography.
