Event Description: Most people would agree the very essence of photography is in the arts. The first photographs included portraits of people, landscapes and staged imagery designed to satisfy someone’s artful fancy. Not much has changed in modern times, or has it? Photography today is a valuable tool that scientists can use to represent good, reliable data. Nature photographer and wildlife biologist Larry Richardson will share wildlife portrait photography in a new way, where images of animals tell us about their habits, their likes and dislikes, when they sleep and when they hunt or graze. Call them “Portraits with Purpose.” They are still artful, but provide a storyline. Lecturer: Larry Richardson View the complete winter 2017 Center for Lifelong Learning session guide at http://www.hodges.edu/lifelonglearning/cll_catalog.aspx.
