Event Description: The “Ghost Rider” tram, named in honor of the famous Ghost Orchid found in the park, lets you look at wildlife and plants without concentrating on the road. An experienced guide leads each 2.5-hour tram tour and points out interesting aspects of the park. The tour takes you past wet prairie where you’ll learn about the underlying geology that shapes the landscape, stops at a slough to get a window into the strand and includes a 15-minute walk down an old logging path to see numerous air plants, a variety of ferns and seasonally blooming orchids. The path is high and dry, but hikers need to wear closed-toed shoes. The 20-passenger tram is wheelchair accessible. Some seats face backwards. Participants will be required to sign a standard release of liability form. There are many opportunities to get off and take photographs. Cost: $25 RSVP by March 21 For more information, contact Kassandra Dafcik at cll@hodges.edu or (239) 598-6143. You may also contact Katharine Sittler at ksittler@hodges.edu or (239) 598-6140.
