Event Description: Step Smart Collier and Hodges University will host a free injury prevention briefing and exhibit for seniors focusing on preventing falls, the leading cause of injury and death to seniors in Collier County. This event will include a presentation on steps that can be taken to mitigate the risk of falling, complimentary balance testing with a written report, as well as a Walgreens pharmacist to evaluate and explain potential drug interactions. Additional presentations will include a Sunshine Ace Hardware exhibit of home/business safety items, an August Contracting Services technician will give directions on installation of safety items, an attorney specializing in senior law will answer legal questions, a Naples Senior Center representative will answer questions about senior services, and an exercise expert in “Tai Chi” will explain benefits of programmed exercises.
