Event Description: Haven on Earth Animal League (HEAL) will host a fundraiser at Miromar Lakes Golf Club to help save homeless cats. Proceeds will benefit the planned Cat Café that will house rescue cats and kittens and provide a place for the public to enjoy a beverage and interact with adoptable felines. Amy Bennett Williams, from The News-Press will be a guest speaker. Cat Cafés are found all around the globe, including Canada, Europe, Japan and the United Kingdom. Here in the United States, they are found in several major cities, including Denver, Grand Rapids, New York City, San Diego and others. Planet Tails opened in Naples, Florida in 2014. The concept is growing in popularity as a place for animal lovers to meet adoptable pets, socialize and sip their favorite beverage. HEAL is planning to open the first Lee County Cat Café and is currently looking for a location. The café will house the homeless cats and kittens and provide a space for the public to interact with the felines and host cat-related events. Fundraiser tickets are $30 per person and fully tax deductible. There will be refreshments, cash bar, entertainment, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, silent auction and a pop-the-cork event.
