Initiated new projects on Surfside Blvd and Skyline Blvd. $4,000 Worth of New Trees Coming Your Way thanks to The Tree Trust of Cape Coral. The Tree Trust of Cape Coral was started in 2020 as a combination of Median Beautification Committees from the Southwest Cape Coral Action Committee and the Northwest Neighbor Association. All the money to purchase the trees comes from donations. Apking says that’s always a challenge. “Our only major event was in 2021 at the former Yacht Club. We raised over $16,000 through raffles. We also solicited funds from local businesses. They all donated $10,000 or more to projects on Sands Blvd and Agualinda Blvd in the SW Cape and Ceitus Parkway in the NW Cape. The City installed signage on the Medians to recognize those organizations for their contribution. Also, residents contributed anywhere from $25 to $1,000 on or near the medians being improved.”
