Event Description: Foreign Beer Festival will be held on March 26 from 7-11 p.m. Check begins at 6:30pm at 2 Locations: Big Johns Plaza on 47th Terrace or the back parking lot of the Leapin Lizard Bar & Grille on Cape Coral Pkwy South Participants will be given a ballot and wristband upon check-in. Tickets are only $15 each and available at any of the following participating locations… Backstreets Bar & Grille, Leapin Lizard Bar & Grille, Ralph’s Place, Cruisers, Bahama Mamma’s, Rack ‘Em Billiards, The Monkey Bar, Chicago Pizza, Wine & Roses Italian Restaurant, La Terraza 47, Paradise Tiki Hut, Steamer’s Sports Shack, The Royal Key, Cape Dog & Deli and Sal’s Pizza. All proceeds from this event will go to benefit our childhood hunger backpack program, BOSCI, which is now feeding over 1050 families from our community every single week. Click for Facebook Event List Attendees 15 Downtown Cape Coral locations will all be vying for the title of best foreign beer. Each location will serve an import beer sample and have complimentary appetizers to every ticket holder between 7 and 11 pm. Kiwanis will be shuttling participants to each of the locations via trolley starting from the two check-in locations, Big Johns Plaza on 47th Terrace and the back parking lot of the Leaping Lizard on Cape Coral Pkwy South. The ballot is for them to vote for their favorite three beers in the competition. The wristband will allow them to use the trolleys during the event, as well as after the event has ended. Trolleys will run until 1 am for event ticket holders even though the event ends at 11 pm. The top 3 public choice vote recipients will be given a $500, $300, and $100 prize respectively and a banner to display throughout the year at their establishment. Participants will be instructed to turn in their ballots into collection boxes on each of the trolleys at the end of the night. There will also be a panel of “celebrity” judges who will be awarding the top locations for their beer selection, presentation, and atmosphere. Upon convening, they will also award a $500, $300, and $100 prize for their top three collective choices based on the judging criteria.
