Event Description: “Profiles in Leadership”

All too often the opportunity to create and mold future leaders is lost in a conversation about skill, ability, personal attribute or personality.

In this session participants will use a series of “cultural values indicators” to create a leadership profile for those they would like to develop as the next generation of leaders. We will look at and use affinitive and aversive indicators to generate an alignment profile to be used by each in coaching, mentoring, leading, guiding and developing talent into leaders.

The September, 2007 Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce Leadership-U session “Profiles in Leadership” is the final installment of our four-part “Winning the Leadership Game” series. This session is 100% “audience participation;” there is no associated “lecture” or any type of comprehensive “presentation.” Each of the participants will be challenged to determine for themselves and the organizations they represent, a series of “cultural values” that they associate with effective leadership and success. They will be taken through the creation of a “set” of indicators in 6 broad categories: “Personal Characteristics and Traits,” “Team,” “Client/Customer,” “Values,” “Purpose” and “Technical.” Once we have determined what’s important (the behavioral drivers for leadership and the achievement of successful outcomes) the participants will be given the opportunity to “create” a means for “surveying” and “scoring” the likelihood of success.

This is, by far, the most “practical” session we have ever entertained. We have spent years “learning” all of the elements and drivers required to know leadership and organizational success; now, we will learn how to seriously apply that knowledge using a highly validated methodology that will provide benefits for years to come.
