Event Description: Art in the Gardens: Dinosaurs! is a free to the public exhibit featuring art created by Lee County School teachers and students available from March 13, 2016 to April 24, 2016. Art, science and gardens all combine in the eighth annual outdoor sculpture event in the gardens surrounding the Edison Ford Museum. This is always a wonderful project demonstrating the talents of hundreds of Lee County students and teachers, as well as the educators at Edison Ford. This year, teachers and students will feature their creative talents by utilizing recycled and unusual materials to construct and display all kinds of dinosaurs. Teachers receive a cash grant to help with the projects thanks to our friends at Forestry Resources, Inc., Go Mulch and Edison & Ford Winter Estates. This event is sponsored by Edison Ford along with all of the teachers in the Lee Art Education Association, and Karen Flanders, Lead Teacher for this event. Other activities will include Farm Animals Petting Zoo and music. Cookies will be provided by Winn-Dixie on the Edison Ford Museum Porch West. Participating schools include Bayshore Elementary, Colonial Elementary, Cypress Lake Middle, Edison & Ford Estates Home School, Edison Park Creative and Expressive Arts, Mariner High, North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts, Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle, Riverdale High, South Fort Myers High, St. Francis Xavier Catholic, Tanglewood Elementary, Tice Elementary, Trafalgar Elementary, Two Happy Hands Singing Academy, and Varsity Lakes Middle.
