Event Description: My story is very simple and the reason why I am involved with the March of Dimes mission. I am a living example of a 21 week old preemie born in 1972 when technology was nonexistence. I was lucky enough to be at one of the best neo-natal units in the country "Mount Sinai Medical Center" in New York City. I only had 1 percent survival rate due to the fact that I had an intestinal obstruction and there was no time to waste. My life was pretty much on the line in the operating table when the physicians were there giving it their all trying to save my life. With this being said, I took the role of 2016 March of Babies Chair Lee County, I'm proud to represent the premature population from being a preemie myself. Miracles do happen, we can make a difference through education, research and development and giving back to this exceptional organization.
