It’s needed to help save two-year-old Zainab, a South Florida girl who is battling neuroblastoma, a very aggressive form of cancer.

Zainab’s blood is extremely rare because she is missing a common antigen that most people carry on their red blood cells. The antigen is called “Indian B” (Inb). For a person to be a possible match for Zainab, they must also be missing the Indian B antigen, or the little girl's body will reject the blood. Locating people who are missing the Indian B antigen comes down to genetics.

•	Statistically, the only people who are likely to be a match for Zainab are people of Pakistani, Indian or Iranian descent. Of these populations, less than 4% of the people are actually missing the Indian B antigen.

To be a match for Zainab a donor must meet the following criteria:
•	Must be exclusively Pakistani, Indian or Iranian descent – meaning the donor’s birth parents are both
           100% Pakistani, Indian or Iranian
•	Must be blood type “O” or “A”
•	All donations for Zainab must be coordinated with OneBlood in advance to ensure the additional compatibility testing is performed. Visit https://www.oneblood.org/zainab/ for donation information.

OneBlood is working closely with other blood centers and the American Rare Donor Program (ARDP), an organization that searches the world for rare blood donors. So far, three matching donors have been located, including a donor that ARDP located in the United Kingdom, near London. It’s the first time OneBlood has ever received an international donor for a local patient. The other two matching donors are from the United States.

While it’s promising the three donors have been located, additional donors are needed. Zainab will need blood transfusions for the foreseeable future. To support her long-term blood needs, the search is on to find at least seven to ten compatible donors. OneBlood is sharing Zainab’s story in the hopes more people who meet the specific donor criteria will come forward to donate for the little girl.

OneBlood is conducting all compatibility testing of potential donors. So far, more than 1,000 local donations, as well as donations from other parts of the country have been tested and no additional matches have been identified.

Media Tool Kit Available
•	To view OneBlood’s online show about the search for Zainab’s donors, and for details on how to donate and/or host a blood drive for Zainab, please visit https://www.oneblood.org/zainab/.
•	A media tool kit with video and interviews is available by visiting https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4yrbbtu13mdglv6/AADToakWh9ixj9e4rBKiXYjca?dl=0.

                                                                ##

OneBlood is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) community asset responsible for providing safe, available and affordable blood to more than 200 hospital partners and their patients throughout most of Florida, parts of Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina. Generally healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. To learn more about OneBlood visit www.oneblood.org.

Attendees must be 21 years of age.

Anderson, a three-time Emmy Award winner, is one of the country’s most recognized and adored comics, named by Comedy Central as “One of 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time.” His career has spanned more than 30 years. He is a best-selling author, star of his own standup specials and sitcoms, and he continues to tour the country performing to standing-room-only crowds worldwide.

In 2016 Anderson was cast to co-star along with Zach Galifianakis and Martha Kelly in the hit FX comedy series “Baskets.” Anderson plays the extraordinary role of Christine, the matriarch of the Baskets clan. He based the character on his mother and his five sisters who were all a major presence in his life. Anderson won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and a Critics’ Choice award for Best Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for his role as Christine Baskets in 2016 and received a second Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nomination for the role in 2017.

Sharing the ups and downs of his childhood experiences as one of eleven children in Minnesota, Anderson crafted comedy routines that rang true for his early club audiences while reducing them to helpless fits of laughter, routines that led him from his career as a counselor to troubled children to the first-place trophy at the 1981 Midwest Comedy Competition. Johnny Carson, the comedy icon for generations of rising stars, invited Anderson to make his national television debut on “The Tonight Show” in 1984. Appearances with Jay Leno, David Letterman and on “The Late Late Show” with Craig Ferguson, “Comic Relief,” Showtime and HBO specials followed.

Anderson has guest starred in sitcoms like “Grace Under Fire” and dramas like “Touched by an Angel” and “Chicago Hope.” He has had memorable featured roles in film comedies like “Coming to America” opposite Eddie Murphy, and the classic “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” In 2013 he took a dive on the ABC reality series Splash where he conquered his own fears while becoming an inspiration of hope. His standup special “Big Baby Boomer” premiered on CMT in 2013.

In 1995 Anderson put his creative energies to work on the Saturday morning animated series “Life with Louie.” The long-running series based on Anderson’s own childhood and his life with his father won three Humanitas Prizes for writing on a children’s animated series, making him the only three-time recipient of this award. The series was nominated for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program and Anderson won two Emmys for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program.

His best-selling books include “Dear Dad – Letters From An Adult Child,” a collection of alternately touching and outrageous letters from Anderson to his late father, “Goodbye Jumbo…Hello Cruel World,” self-help for those who struggle with self-esteem issues, and “The F Word, How To Survive Your Family.”

Anderson’s most recent book, “Hey Mom” (April 2018 Simon and Shuster) combines wry wit and poignant humor while sharing his journey of turning life’s challenges into joy as well as plenty of wisdom he gained from his late mother.

Business Card Exchange Hosted by Celadon Recovery Campus 2/4/2020 7:30 AM - 2/4/2020 8:30 AM

For the early birds, the Business Card Exchange is designed for those who cannot get away midday or for those looking for the extra early morning networking from 7:30am - 8:30am. Every month the Ambassadors have reserved seating at the General Membership meeting/luncheon. They network with new members and expose their own business during the process. There is an average of ten ribbon cuttings per month. We encourage all Ambassadors to attend as many ribbon cuttings as their time allows. The time investment for this committee can be as high as 10 hours per month depending on your level of involvement.
With more than 17 million albums sold worldwide, more than 3500 live performances, and a radio audience that exceeds one billion, Night Ranger has both epitomized and transcended the arena rock sound and style well beyond that era. With multiple songs that have significantly impacted popular culture, Night Ranger continues to expand their ever-growing fan-base.

Night Ranger has earned widespread acclaim that includes multi-platinum and gold album status while leaving their indelible mark on the music charts with a string of best-selling albums: “Dawn Patrol,” “Midnight Madness,” “7 Wishes,” “Big Life” and “Man In Motion”. Their popularity is fueled by an impressive string of instantly recognizable hit singles and signature album tracks, including legendary titles such as "Sister Christian," "Don't Tell Me You Love Me," "When You Close Your Eyes," the anthemic "(You Can Still) Rock In America," along with "Sentimental Street," "Goodbye," "Sing Me Away" and "Four in the Morning".

Over the years, the band's music has made notable contributions to and been featured in many different areas of media and popular culture. The band was one of the first big "video" bands on MTV, with over ten number one hit videos. Night Ranger songs can be heard in TV shows like “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” “American Dad,” “Glee,” “Grey's Anatomy” and “Parks & Recreation.” The band has also had music featured in video games such as “Rock Band,” “Guitar Hero” and “Grand Theft Auto,” plus the hit Broadway musical “Rock of Ages,” the Oscar-Nominated film “Boogie Nights,” and other feature films such as “Friday the 13th,” “Teachers,” “Sixteen Candles,” and “The Secret of My Success.” Night Ranger can also be heard throughout JBL’s "Hear The Truth" brand campaign.

Over the years, we have grown to over 125 vendors. We are confident that we have all the delicious foods and local crafts that you love to shop for.

Fresh, local & healthy fruits and veggies, including Certified Organic produce, are the core of the market along with homemade and handmade foods and crafts. Fresh baked breads & pastries, homemade pickles, jams & jellies, Gulf fresh seafood, fresh meats, homemade pet treats, handcrafted soaps, essential oils, local honey, made-on-site guacamole, fresh, cut flowers, native plants & trees are just some of the fantastic products available.

Since shopping and eating seem to go so well together, the market has endless options. A food truck court and tent vendors offer BBQ, Crepes, Empanadas, Mexican food, German street food and healthy options like Kombucha, health smoothies, Acai bowls and salads.

Each season we do our best to give back to the community by offering spaces for non-profits, schools and community groups. Another way we give back is by offering the ability for our EBT/SNAP customers to shop for healthy and affordable food options. We are proud to say that 7 years ago, we were the first market in Lee County to offer ease of shopping for our neighbors.

We are also proud that we were the first market in Lee County to offer Fresh Access Bucks to our EBT/SNAP customers. This program gives $40.00 extra to purchase Florida grown fruits & veggies at the market. A healthy community is a great outcome.

The market can also be very entertaining with great musicians perform during the season.

We hope that you choose to make the Cape Coral Farmers Market your Saturday Morning Destination!

Three more top 20 Billboard hits would eventually come from that album including “Angel,” “I’m Free,” and “Do You Believe In Us.” The unprecedented success for Secada continued in 1994 with the platinum selling release of his second album “Heart, Soul and Voice” (EMI), which garnered another top 10 hit, “If You Go”, and followed with his third album, “Amor,” earning him his second Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance.

In addition to numerous recordings such as “Same Dream” and “Classics,” in the late 2000s, in 2011 Secada released his seventh Spanish album, “Otra Vez” (YMe/Pyramid), which received universal acclaim and spawned multiple hits on radio stations worldwide.

Every time they step before an audience, The Oak Ridge Boys bring four decades of charted singles, and 50 years of tradition, to a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere.

Their string of hits includes the country-pop chart-topper “Elvira,” as well as “Bobbie Sue,” “Dream On,” “Thank God For Kids,” “American Made,” “I Guess It Never Hurts To Hurt Sometimes,” “Fancy Free,” “Gonna Take A Lot Of River” and many others.
