It’s needed to help save two-year-old Zainab, a South Florida girl who is battling neuroblastoma, a very aggressive form of cancer.

Zainab’s blood is extremely rare because she is missing a common antigen that most people carry on their red blood cells. The antigen is called “Indian B” (Inb). For a person to be a possible match for Zainab, they must also be missing the Indian B antigen, or the little girl's body will reject the blood. Locating people who are missing the Indian B antigen comes down to genetics.

•	Statistically, the only people who are likely to be a match for Zainab are people of Pakistani, Indian or Iranian descent. Of these populations, less than 4% of the people are actually missing the Indian B antigen.

To be a match for Zainab a donor must meet the following criteria:
•	Must be exclusively Pakistani, Indian or Iranian descent – meaning the donor’s birth parents are both
           100% Pakistani, Indian or Iranian
•	Must be blood type “O” or “A”
•	All donations for Zainab must be coordinated with OneBlood in advance to ensure the additional compatibility testing is performed. Visit https://www.oneblood.org/zainab/ for donation information.

OneBlood is working closely with other blood centers and the American Rare Donor Program (ARDP), an organization that searches the world for rare blood donors. So far, three matching donors have been located, including a donor that ARDP located in the United Kingdom, near London. It’s the first time OneBlood has ever received an international donor for a local patient. The other two matching donors are from the United States.

While it’s promising the three donors have been located, additional donors are needed. Zainab will need blood transfusions for the foreseeable future. To support her long-term blood needs, the search is on to find at least seven to ten compatible donors. OneBlood is sharing Zainab’s story in the hopes more people who meet the specific donor criteria will come forward to donate for the little girl.

OneBlood is conducting all compatibility testing of potential donors. So far, more than 1,000 local donations, as well as donations from other parts of the country have been tested and no additional matches have been identified.

Media Tool Kit Available
•	To view OneBlood’s online show about the search for Zainab’s donors, and for details on how to donate and/or host a blood drive for Zainab, please visit https://www.oneblood.org/zainab/.
•	A media tool kit with video and interviews is available by visiting https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4yrbbtu13mdglv6/AADToakWh9ixj9e4rBKiXYjca?dl=0.

                                                                ##

OneBlood is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) community asset responsible for providing safe, available and affordable blood to more than 200 hospital partners and their patients throughout most of Florida, parts of Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina. Generally healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. To learn more about OneBlood visit www.oneblood.org.

Over the years, we have grown to over 125 vendors. We are confident that we have all the delicious foods and local crafts that you love to shop for.

Fresh, local & healthy fruits and veggies, including Certified Organic produce, are the core of the market along with homemade and handmade foods and crafts. Fresh baked breads & pastries, homemade pickles, jams & jellies, Gulf fresh seafood, fresh meats, homemade pet treats, handcrafted soaps, essential oils, local honey, made-on-site guacamole, fresh, cut flowers, native plants & trees are just some of the fantastic products available.

Since shopping and eating seem to go so well together, the market has endless options. A food truck court and tent vendors offer BBQ, Crepes, Empanadas, Mexican food, German street food and healthy options like Kombucha, health smoothies, Acai bowls and salads.

Each season we do our best to give back to the community by offering spaces for non-profits, schools and community groups. Another way we give back is by offering the ability for our EBT/SNAP customers to shop for healthy and affordable food options. We are proud to say that 7 years ago, we were the first market in Lee County to offer ease of shopping for our neighbors.

We are also proud that we were the first market in Lee County to offer Fresh Access Bucks to our EBT/SNAP customers. This program gives $40.00 extra to purchase Florida grown fruits & veggies at the market. A healthy community is a great outcome.

The market can also be very entertaining with great musicians perform during the season.

We hope that you choose to make the Cape Coral Farmers Market your Saturday Morning Destination!

From his Dove Award-winning gospel albums to his genre-defining Southern rock anthems and his CMA Award-winning country hits, few artists have left a more indelible mark on America’s musical landscape than Charlie Daniels. An outspoken patriot, beloved mentor to young artists and still a road warrior at age 82, Daniels has parlayed his passion for music into a multi-platinum career and a platform to support the military, underprivileged children and others in need.

The Charlie Daniels Band has populated radio with such memorable and timeless hits as “Long Haired Country Boy,” “The South’s Gonna Do It Again,” “In America,” “The Legend of Wooley Swamp” and of course, his signature song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1979 as well as single of the year at the Country Music Association Awards.

Over the course of his career, Daniels has received numerous accolades, including his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame (2016), the Musicians Hall of Fame and becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He was presented the Pioneer Award by the Academy of Country Music and was honored as a BMI Icon in recognition of his songwriting. He also received a star on the Music City Walk of Fame.

Formed in Tampa in 1972, The Outlaws – known for their triple-guitar rock attack and three-part country harmonies – became one of the first acts signed by Clive Davis (at the urging of Ronnie Van Zant) to his then-fledgling Arista Records. The band’s first three albums “The Outlaws,” “Lady In Waiting” and “Hurry Sundown,” feature such rock radio favorites as “There Goes Another Love Song,” “Green Grass & High Tides,” “Knoxville Girl” and “Freeborn Man.” The albums would become worldwide gold and platinum landmarks of the Southern Rock era. Other hits for The Outlaws include “Riders In The Sky,” “Song For You,” and “Hurry Sundown.” Known as “The Florida Guitar Army” by their fans, The Outlaws earned a formidable reputation as an incendiary live act touring with friends The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Marshall Tucker Band and The Charlie Daniels Band as well as The Doobie Brothers, The Who, Eagles and The Rolling Stones.

Now The Outlaws return with new music, new focus and an uncompromising new mission: It’s about a band of brothers bound together by history, harmony and the road. It’s about a group that respects its own legacy while refusing to be defined by its past. “It’s About Pride” is the new album from The Outlaws, a record four years in the making and perhaps 20 or more in the waiting.

The Membership Development Committee has the opportunity to be the first to know about new members with the chamber. Ambassadors attend Ribbon Cuttings and also take part in being a mentor to new members. This is a great way to meet new prospects and welcome them to the chamber. Every month the Ambassadors have reserved seating at the General Membership meeting/luncheon. They network with new members and expose their own business during the process. There is an average of ten ribbon cuttings per month. We encourage all Ambassadors to attend as many ribbon cuttings as their time allows. The time investment for this committee can be as high as 10 hours per month depending on your level of involvement.

The lineup for the Immokalee Bluegrass Festival includes:

•	Nitty Gritty Dirt Band: With a refreshed lineup and newfound energy, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band remains one of the most accomplished bands in American roots music. The band played their first gig in 1966 in Southern California and by 1969 had become a cornerstone of the burgeoning country-rock community. Their career breakthrough came with the 1970 release of the record “Uncle Charlie & His Dog Teddy” and the single “Mr. Bojangles,” a folksy Top 10 pop hit that remains a staple of their live show. The three-disc album “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” brought Nitty Gritty Dirt Band together with a number of country, folk, and bluegrass legends. Heroes like Roy Acuff, Mother Maybelle Carter, Jimmy Martin, Merle Travis, and Doc Watson joined the scruffy, young band to record country music standards such as “I Saw the Light” and “Keep on the Sunnyside.” The acclaimed project is considered a landmark recording in American music. The band’s hits also include “An American Dream,” “Long Hard Road (The Sharecropper’s Dream),” “Modern Day Romance,” and “Fishin’ in the Dark.”

•	Yonder Mountain String Band: Yonder Mountain String Band's first new album in two years, “Love. Ain’t Love” is undeniably the Colorado-based progressive bluegrass outfit's most surprising, creative, and energetic studio excursion to date. Songs like "Chasing My Tail" and "Alison" are rooted in tradition but are current and animated by electrifying performance, vivid production, and the modernist power that has made Yonder one of the most popular live bands of their generation. Melding sophisticated song craft, irrepressible spirit, and remarkable instrumental ability, “Love. Ain’t Love” is a testament to the band's organic, dynamic, and intensely personal brand of contemporary bluegrass-fueled Americana.

•	Del McCoury and David Grisman: Del + Dawg: Del McCoury and David Grisman met at the first show Del ever played (on banjo) with Bill Monroe in the spring of 1963 at New York University in Greenwich Village. Through the years they have shared the stage at venues and festivals across the country and in 2012 released “Hardcore Bluegrass,” a unique collection of bluegrass classics, made at two Dawg studio jam sessions in the 1990. Del + Dawg celebrates the nearly 50-year bluegrass friendship that these two legendary musicians have shared.

•	Balsam Range: The 2018 International Bluegrass Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year, Balsam Range has become one of the genre’s most award-winning acts. The group has garnered 13 IBMA awards on the heels of eight critically-acclaimed albums. Balsam Range has headlined major festivals and sold out venues across the nation and made multiple appearances at the Grand Ole Opry. The band collaborated with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra Ensemble to record 2 albums; “Mountain Overture,” debuted on the Billboar” Mountain Voodoo,” debuted at #4 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums Chart and remained on that chart for 45 weeks. Three singles from that album reached #1 on the Bluegrass Today Chart, including “Blue Collar Dreams.” The band most recently claimed the #1 radio chart spot with the single “The Girl Who Invented The Wheel.”

•	The Barefoot Movement: Heralded by CMT Edge as "one of the most promising bands on the bluegrass scene," the music of the Nashville based group The Barefoot Movement is as down to earth as their intention for members of their audience: sit back, relax, take your shoes off, and stay a while. With two full-length albums, an EP of traditional music, several cross-country tours, and appearances at some of the top bluegrass festivals in the United States, the group received a Momentum Award in 2014, naming them “Band of the Year” by the International Bluegrass Music Association. They have been selected as showcase artists at both the International Bluegrass Music Association and the Americana Festival conferences and were first runners up at the 2013 Telluride Bluegrass Festival’s New Band Competition.

•	The South Carolina Broadcasters: David and Ivy Sheppard and Sarah Osborne come by the name The South Carolina Broadcasters honestly. David and Ivy, both North Carolina natives, were living in Charleston when they started the project about five years ago. They met Osborne, who grew up between Saxapahaw and Graham, at a show in Kernersville in 2012, and she quickly joined. Soon after, the Sheppards decided to move back to their home state and bought a house in Mount Airy. The group alternates between mountain gospel barnstormers and tradition-tinged ballads of their own construction.

The Orchestra has a pedigree that stretches back over many years, with roots reaching to the 1970s and 1980s with Electric Light Orchestra, the 1990s with ELO Part II and from 2001 to the present as The Orchestra, heralding a continuing era of unparalleled symphonic rock

Following Bev Bevan's retirement at the end of 1999 and their triumphant sell-out concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall and Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, Mik Kaminski, Louis Clark, Kelly Groucutt, Eric Troyer, Parthenon Huxley and Gordon Townsend regrouped as The Orchestra. The new name acknowledged each member's illustrious former membership of the Electric Light Orchestra and/or ELO Part II but also forges ahead a future utilizing the spectacular symphonic rock sound for which they are unequalled. The Orchestra’s current lineup includes Kaminski, Clark, Troyer, Huxley, and Townsend, as well as Glen Burtnik.

ELO hits from yesteryear are the cornerstone of The Orchestra’s repertoire, including “Strange Magic,” “Do Ya,” “Don’t Bring Me Down,” “Evil Woman,” “Livin’ Thing,” “Turn to Stone,” “Sweet Talkin’ Woman,” “Telephone Line,” “Ma-Ma-Ma Belle,” “Mr. Blue Sky” and “Roll Over Beethoven.”

POSTPONED RIBBON CUTTING - Sutherlin Nissan of Cape Coral 3/20/2020 2:00 PM - 3/20/2020 2:30 PM

The lineup for Para La Cultura includes:

•	Olga Tañón: A best-selling, award-winning Puerto Rican tropical and Latin pop singer, songwriter, and set designer, Tañón has, since 1992, sold millions of recordings across the globe. Throughout her career, "La Mujer de Fuego" (the woman of fire) has been awarded seven gold and five platinum albums. She was the first female Puerto Rican artist to be certified gold in the United States, selling more than 500,000 units of the 1996 album “Nuevos Senderos.” She is the winner of numerous Grammy and Latin Grammy awards, and has placed nearly 40 singles on the Hot Latin Songs chart. She is the artist with the highest number of Premio Lo Nuestro awards (more than 30). She has been honored by the Salon of the Fame of the Latin Songwriters with the "La Voz de La Musa" Award and the prestigious Hispanic Award for the Arts. Tañón has also used her voice and music for social justice: she is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, has promoted immigration reform, and has been influential through her participation in the Concert of Peace Without Borders in Cuba in 2009 with an attendance of 1.6 million people – the third concert with the largest audience in the world. She returned in 2015 to give two historic concerts – Promesa Fulfilled – with over a million attendees.

•	Luis Enrique: Luis Enrique has won three Latin Grammys, one Grammy, three “Lo Nuestro” awards, four Latin Billboards, two Ronda awards, as well as the recognition of the Huaco awards, TVyNovelas, Aplausos, ACE y ASCAP. After becoming the most revolutionary figure in the salsa scene in the 1980s, LUIS ENRIQUE went through a period of nine years without recording, although he never left the stage. The theme “Yo no se mañana” captained the musical project that returned Enrique to a place of notoriety among the public, colleagues and industry in general and resulted in a masterpiece that consists of 11 themes and new sounds interspersed with classical salsa. In 2013, the singer was invited to be part of the Broadway play “Forever Tango” in New York City where he performed alongside 16 world-class tango dancers and the 11-piece orchestra of “Forever Tango.” His most recent production, “Jukebox – First Edition,” brought an innovative concept in his career in which for the first time he interpreted musical successes as pure salsa.

•	Rey Ruiz: Born in Havana, Cuba, Rey Ruiz has been a prominent figure in the romantic salsa scene since the early 1990s, earning the title of "El Elvis de la Salsa" for some and "El Bombón de la Salsa" for others. His record career began with an album that bore his nickname “Rey Ruiz” in 1992, in the 1950s mambo style and went platinum. He also won the Billboard and "Lo Nuestro" awards with several successful songs. He then participated in the “Los Soneros de Hoy” project, which was in honor of the salsa pioneers of the 1960s and 1970s. The project album included Ruiz singing “Compone un Son.” Ruiz's second album, “Mi Media Mitad” reached the Billboard Latin List, and one of his songs, "If You Are Asked," went to the top of the list of the Dial Chain in Europe and went platinum in Puerto Rico and the United States and gold in Colombia. His third album, “En Body and Soul,” included the popular songs "We Are Alone" and “Come Back with Me.” His album “Destino” marked his debut as a songwriter. His hit songs through the years include "My Angel," "You Don't Know," “I loved her and loved her,” the duet with Brazilian singer José Augusto “Siempre Mía,” "Move It," "Friends of Truth," and "Since You Are Not."

•	Melina León: Melina León began her professional career as a teenager in musical groups such as Las Cherís and Rubí, Las Chicas de Puerto Rico, Merengue Orchestra and Paparazzi. In 1997 she became a soloist with her first production "Mujeres Liberadas," which represented the beginning of an ascending and successful artistic career. In 1998, she released her second album, "Con los pies sobre la tierra," which won numerous awards. In 2010 she recorded her third production "No Seas Cobarde" and was nominated and won “Premios Lo Nuestro” as tropical artist of the year. Melina’s most recent single "Dicen que yo soy mala" is the sequel to her iconic theme "Mujeres Liberadas."

•	Charlie Cruz: With only his second album as a soloist, “Imaginate,” Charlie Cruz hit the international scene. With the WEA Latina label, the production was helped by Sergio George who directed and arranged. In that album, Cruz was co- songwriter of “Y gritaré,” together with Guadalupe García and Sergio George. His latest release is “Asi Soy” featured the song “Hoy es el Dia.” His other notable hits include “Bombon de Azucar," "Amarte es un problema," and "Dejala que Baile.”

•	Oscarcito: Oscar Hernández, better known as Oscarcito, is considered one of the soloists of the new generation, after a solid career in the A.5 group and with the successful duo Franco and Oscarcito. The Caracas, Venezuela native has release singles that have achieved international fame, such a “Tumbaye,” “Tu Eres Perfecta” and “No Te Tengo A Ti” while also collaborating to produce songs for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith and Marc Anthony, Victor Manuelle and Thalia.

•	Manu Manzo: In 2015, Manu Manzo produced her first EP, “Como Soy,” which effortlessly defined her unique style for combining meaningful lyrics with multiple genres including Latin, Jazz, Funk, Blues and Neo-Soul. Manzo would collaborate with fellow artists including Latin Grammy nominee Alex Ubago and Latin Grammy and Grammy award winners Tommy Torres and Luis Enrique. The EPlbum produced stand-out tracks "El sueño más urgente", "Como soy" and "XXX novio" and would earn her first Latin Grammy nomination for "Best New Artist." She followed up with the highly anticipated release “Intermedio” which included the Hip-Hop infused track “Vicio y adiccion“ and “Sienteme,” a neo-soul track produced by James Poysner of the hip hop band The Roots and DJ Jazzy Jeff. In November 2018, Manzo released the single and video for “Caminando,” a fresh new cut that combines urban and Latin sounds with a smooth flow of lyrics influenced by a modern Latin urban style. In 2019, Manzo released her next single "Sucia Boca."

Of Crystal Gayle’s 35 top-10 country hits to date, 13 have become sizable pop and/or adult-contemporary hits as well, so while she is one of the 10 biggest hit-making country female artists of all time, she is also familiar to millions of non-country listeners. “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” “Ready For the Times to Get Better,” “Half the Way,” her Eddie Rabbitt duet “You and I” and the rest of her hit repertoire have brought Gayle a trophy case full of honors. They include a Grammy, two CMA awards, four American Music Awards and five ACM accolades.

For her first album in 15 years, “You Don’t Know Me,” Gayle has created an entire collection of classic country sounds. The new album includes such iconic songs as “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “You Win Again,” “Please Help Me I’m Falling,” “Crying Time” and “That’s the Way Love Goes.” Gayle shines a new spotlight on the compositions of Willie Nelson, Cindy Walker, Gordon Lightfoot, Harlan Howard, Dallas Frazier and their peers.

“You Don’t Know Me” also contains the first recorded trio vocal performance by Gayle with her singing sisters Loretta Lynn and Peggy Sue on their version of Dolly Parton’s “Put It Off Until Tomorrow.”

Cape Coral Farmers' Market - Club Square 3/28/2020 8:00 AM - 3/28/2020 1:00 PM

The Cape Coral Farmers Market has been a favorite Saturday morning destination for 26 years.

With 14 Top 40 hit singles, two of which went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and a long running record of proven successful live shows, The Guess Who are Canada's first international rock superstars. The band’s string of hits began with the recording of the album “Wheatfield Soul” and the release of the single “These Eyes,” which reached number 1 in Canada and number 7 in the United States in the spring of 1969. That year, the group’s second album, “Canned Wheat Packed By The Guess Who,” also charted, as did “Laughing,” the B-side of “These Eyes,” itself a Top 10 hit, and “Undun,” which reached number 22 in the United States. The group’s busy year was wrapped up with a number 5 single, “No Time.”.

In March 1970, the hard rocking “American Woman” became The Guess Who’s U.S. number 1. The B-side “No Sugar Tonight” also received considerable radio airplay. “American Woman” became the group’s Top 10 album in the United States during this time. Another U.S. Top 10 single, “Share The Land,” finished up 1970 for the group. They continued to release charting singles and albums in the early 1970s, including “Albert Flasher” and “Rain Dance” in 1971, and their Greatest Hits reached number 12 in 1972.
