Join us for a holiday-themed Pre-K class—Winter Electricity: 'Tis the Season For Lights—this December 9th at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates!
The Edison and Ford Winter Estates PreK-Program is a 90-minute class with a STEAM hands-on approach to learning through play with hands-on activities. The class helps introduce educational readiness for kids 18 months to 5 years of age. The series supports developing social and behavioral skills with their classmates and STEAM educators. It is structured with an hour of activities, half an hour of independent play and snack time. 1 or 2 Parents/Guardians/Family members can accompany the student in class.
This Pre-K class will teach about the history and engineering of Thomas Edison and his famous Christmas Lights. Starting with a fun demonstration of a Van De Graff generator! Our pre-k students will make a simple circuit with Play Doh, and a festive light box to take home! Follows Engineering/Science Standards and Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards with Social and Emotional Development, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Inquiry, and Approaches to Learning.
